The city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the East Baton Rouge Parish, impose several taxes on residents and those doing business in the municipalities. In addition to the state sales and use tax, East Baton Rouge Parish collects a 5% sales tax.
The Parish levies an occupational license tax on businesses within the Parish. The tax rate is dependent on the classification of the business, and is computed based on gross sales or receipts.

A service fee is imposed on residents and businesses based on their level of water consumption. This fee is known as sewer user fees and solid waste collection fees.
