The state of Colorado generates income from various types of taxes on businesses and individuals, including sales and use tax, individual and corporate income tax, and various other taxes.

The general state sales and use tax rate is 2.9%. Some localities also charge a sales and use tax.

Individual income tax is reported on Form 104. The return is due by April 15, or the next business day if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday. Colorado uses a flat rate of 4.63%.

Corporations file Form 112, Corporation Income Tax Return, and S corporations and partnerships file Form 106, both of which are due by the fifteenth day of the third month after the end of the corporation’s or partnership’s fiscal year.

Some of the other taxes imposed by the state are cigarette tax, property tax, withholding tax, fuel tax, liquor excise tax, and severance taxes.
