Florida’s Department of Revenue administers all of the taxes for the state. These taxes include sales and use taxes, property taxes, and various other taxes. Florida is one of just seven states that does not have an individual income tax.

The general state sales and use tax rate is 6% on retail sales, admissions charges, storage, use, or rental. Some counties impose an additional sales and use tax.

Corporations need to file the Florida Corporate Income/Franchise and Emergency Excise Tax Return, Form F-1120. Distributors of utility services need to file Form DR-133, Gross Receipts Tax Return. The tax is 2.5% of the gross receipts received for sale, delivery, or transportation of utility services. Employers are also responsible for the Unemployment Tax, which is filed and paid quarterly.

Other Florida taxes are the property tax, communications services taxes, and motor vehicle registration and taxes.
