Georgia’s Department of Revenue implements all of the taxes for the state. These taxes include sales and use taxes, individual and corporate income taxes, property taxes, and various other taxes.

The general state sales and use tax rate for Georgia is 4%. Some counties also impose a sales and use tax.

Individual income taxes are reported on Form 500. The return is due on April 15, or the next business day if the 15th falls on a holiday or weekend. The tax rates range from 1% to 6%.

Corporate income tax is reported on Form 600, and the tax rate is 6% of Georgia taxable income. The return is due on March 15, or the 15th day of the third month after the close of the corporation’s fiscal year.

Other Georgia taxes are the property tax, tobacco tax, motor fuel tax, withholding, alcohol tax, and financial institutions tax.
