Nevada
Nevada’s Department of Taxation implements all of the taxes for the state. These taxes include sales and use taxes, property taxes, and various other taxes. Nevada is one of only seven states that do not have an individual income tax.
The general state sales and use tax rate for Nevada is 6.5%. Local sales and use taxes are also incurred.
Businesses operating in Nevada must file the Modified Business Tax Return. Total gross wages minus the deduction for paid health insurance/health benefits plan are taxed at 0.63%. Financial institutions must also file a return and are taxed at 2% of the same calculated amount.
Other Nevada taxes are the property tax, liquor tax, estate tax, cigarette and other tobacco products tax, motor fuel tax, insurance premium tax, live entertainment tax, bank excise tax, tire tax, and short term lease tax.
