Oregon’s Department of Revenue administers all of the taxes for the state of Oregon. These taxes include individual and business income taxes, employee withholding taxes, and various other taxes. Oregon is one of a few states with no sales or use tax.

Individual income tax is reported on Form 40 for full year residents, Form 40 N for non-residents, and Form 40 P for part year residents, all with a due date of April 15. If the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, taxpayers have until the next business day to mail the return. The tax rates for individual income taxes range from 5% to 9%.

Corporations report their income tax using Form 20, while S corporations use Form 20-S, both due by the fifteenth day of the month following the due date of the federal return. Partnerships report income using Form 65, with a due date of the fifteenth day of the fourth month after fiscal year-end. Insurance Excise Tax is reported on Form 20-INS, and is due by April 15.

Revenue is also generated for the state by imposing other taxes such as the withholding tax, estate and trust taxes, property tax, lodging tax, tobacco tax, amusement device tax, emergency communication tax, and hazardous substance fee.
