The Company's retail operations are supported by 19 distribution centers. Albertsons' divisions and subsidiaries operate stores under the banners Albertsons, Acme, Bristol Farms, Grocery Warehouse, Jewel, Jewel-Osco, Max Foods, Osco Drug, Sav-on Drugs, Shaw's, Star Market and Super Saver. On April 30, 2004, the Company acquired J Sainsbury plc's United States retail grocery store business (Shaw's). The operations acquired consisted of 206 grocery stores in the New England area operated under the banners of Shaw's and Star Market. On September 21, 2004, Albertsons acquired Bristol Farms.
